Description: Lecture and Discussion

Statistics show that more often than not, when people are asked for the meaning of a street’s name they have no idea. In major cities in Israel many of the streets bear the names of a person who was significant in the history of the Jewish diaspora of Israel, names of people who shaped our existence and our ideologies.

Often these personalities are clustered in known places and reflect the fascinating stories of both the individuals and the areas. From Biblical times until now this introductory session will give you a taste of one of the most exciting methods of delving into our history via a tour of some of the most well-known streets of Tel Aviv.
