Inheritance Day is a free pilot event being hosted by the House of Life, a National Lottery Heritage Funded project, at Willesden Jewish Cemetery. It is an opportunity for you to come and listen to some of the stories of the cemetery told by the people who know it best, and a chance to share the history with a wide audience including different generations connected with the cemetery, those interested in family history, and local residents.

Programme of talks starting at 10.00am:

Tim Franks on his Great Grandad, the Superintendent
Gloria Kaufman on Three wedding guests
Timothy Warner on Pensions for omnibus drivers
Jeremy Robson on the Black cat
David Jacobs on a Medieval manuscript
Sarah Montagu on the Cousinhood
Sue Woolf on a German dynasty
Keith Mayer on Ready-made clothing
Robert Segall on a V2 rocket tragedy

Visitors should check-in at the Lodge to be directed to the talks.

At 12.30pm you will be able to take part in a planting ceremony to mark the restoration of the gate in the back wall.

Volunteers will be on-hand to help find your family graves, and you'll be able to find out more about volunteering opportunities with the House of Life.

Limited parking is available on site.

In the event of inclement weather conditons talks will take place within the Prayer Hall followed by a tour of cemetery.

No eating, drinking or dogs (except service dogs) within the grounds.
